The maximum allocatable graphics that can be used from the RAM is ~1.7GB. But my vendor says that it is locked at 512Mb in the bios settings. This is too less as one never knows if 2-3 years from now 512Mb may be insufficient. So i would like to know if i can specify 'maximum DVMT' in the bios settings.

I managed ,though, to enter some command lines from the bootable usb drive i created (grub rescue command line).
